Four homes, each named for a bird, on one quiet gated compound in Awelo, about eight minutes' drive from Siaya town.

A home on the compound, not a room in a block. There is space around each one, tall trees behind them and birds in the morning, and nobody else's door next to yours. Each is yours alone, with two bedrooms, a bathroom, a sitting room and a full kitchen: somewhere to slow down and settle in, not only somewhere to sleep.

The homes

Four homes, named for the birds around them

Aluru, Akuru, Awendo and Osogo are the Dholuo names of four birds that live around the compound. Wake early enough and you may hear them getting started before the day does. Inside, all four homes are laid out and furnished alike.

What you get is what people look for there: a whole self-contained house with its own kitchen, sitting room and bathroom, on a gated compound about eight minutes' drive from Siaya town. Your home is never shared with a second booking. Self check-in from 2pm, and you pay by M-Pesa or bank transfer.
